Henrico County Public Library’s new Libbie Mill Library has emerged as a unique, state‐of‐the‐art facility providing access to the broadest range of information, learning opportunities and cultural experiences. The library incorporates the unique Henrico County Heritage Wall (a 15 flat panel interactive learning station) together with other innovations including: Digital Media Lab, Collaboration Zone, Information Commons, 7 group study rooms, drive up service window integrated with automated book sorting.
One of 3 recent projects our team has undertaken for Henrico County, at 60,000 square feet, Libbie Mill Library is the largest. It will also become the most urban library in the county, since it is the lead project in an all-new 80-acre mixed-use neighborhood development, inspiring additional investment in the community.
For this project, Tappe has teamed with the award-winning Richmond, Virginia based architectural firm, BCWH Architects. Working collaboratively, we deliver exemplar planning and design services for many library projects throughout Virginia.
