The Aldrich is nationally recognized for exhibiting emerging contemporary artists. While dedicated to cutting edge art, the new museum is located within a historic district adjacent to a restored historic house that contains administrative offices. The design embodies concepts of sequence, framed views, and transparency.
The museum accommodates public functions and features reconfigurable galleries, spaces for sound and video art, a classroom that supports innovative educational programming and extensive new landscaping including a sculpture garden.
